The COMPACT Demo package
is designed to give you a hands-on opportunity to explore the capabilities of the COMPACT and microGRAPHICS programs. The Demo runs on a PC (with Microsoft Windows 95/98 and NT). It allows
you to use the graphical preprocessor preCOMPACT to set up problems, COMPACT to solve them, and microGRAPHICS to view the results. Also included are a PowerPoint presentation of the capabilities of the full COMPACT product, and a case study of an interesting flow diffuser, set up entirely with preCOMPACT.
The installation files for the COMPACT Demo are contained in the program compdemo.exe. To extract the installation files, you need a password. After downloading the program
"compdemo.exe", you should contact Innovative Research, Inc. (e-mail: info@inres.com; telephone: (763) 519-0105; fax: (763) 519-0239)
to obtain a password.
Once you have received the password, follow these steps to install the Demo on your machine:
- From the Start menu on your machine, choose Run....
- Click on the Browse button to locate the file compdemo.exe.
- Click Open. In the Run window, you will see the file compdemo.exe with its absolute path.
- After compdemo.exe, append -d -s******* where ******* stands for the password provided by Innovative
Research. (Please note that there should be a space before -d and before -s.)
- Click OK. This will create a folder with the name Compdemo.
- Run the program setup.exe in the folder Compdemo and follow the instructionson the screen.
