Benefits of Using TileFlow

TileFlow has been specifically designed for simulation of cooling performance of raised-floor data centers.

  • The Graphical User Interface (GUI) includes all necessary tools for representing the details of the data center.
  • Solver uses advanced algorithms for efficient calculation of the three-dimensional flow under the raised floor, the resulting airflow rates through the perforated tiles, three-dimensional flow field above the raised floor, and the corresponding temperature distribution.
  • The Display/Animation tools present the results in easy-to-understand formats.

Use of TileFlow provides numerous benefits to data center designers, data center managers, and equipment manufacturers:

  • Initial Design. Ensure that the proposed layout gives the desired airflow rates for the immediate and anticipated needs and the rack inlet temperatures are within acceptable range.
  • Failure Scenarios. Predict the behavior with failed CRAC units (and other cooling units) and stand-by units.
  • Changes in Layout. Data centers are evolving systems. Equipment is frequently re-located, new equipment is installed, and new CRAC units are commissioned. Predict the impact of these changes on the cooling performance.
  • Energy Savings. Use TileFlow to determine if the CRAC units are providing maximum benefit or if the floor space is efficiently utilized.
  • Diagnose Cooling Problems. Use TileFlow to identify the causes of inadequate cooling, which results in hot spots, and evaluate potential solutions.

Use of TileFlow leads to data centers that are optimal, efficient, and reliable.
