Case Studies: Case 9

A Large Data Center with a Complex Floor Layout

This example shows another complex floor layout with blocked regions in the corners and in the middle of the floor space. A number of CRAC units are used to provide cool air through perforated tiles scattered throughout the floor space. The floor layout is typical of real-life data centers.

The results show significant variation in the flow coming out of the perforated tiles. To obtain the desired flow rates through individual tiles would require rearrangement of the locations of CRAC units and changes in the percentage open areas of tiles. These tasks can easily be performed using TileFlow.
