TileFlowTM - New Features in Version 2.0

New Features in TileFlow Version 2.0

Server Racks
TileFlow Version 2.0 allows you to place server racks on the raised floor. The attributes of racks (dimensions and heat load) are specified through Server Rack Styles. The racks can be displayed in one of four modes: full, footprint, wireframe, and invisible. You can specify different rack display options for the animation and non-animation modes in the 3D view. With the capability to place racks, you can now create a complete representation of the raised floor.

Database of Server Racks
TileFlow Version 2.0 includes a database of Server Rack Styles for commonly used racks. A style contains information about the overall dimensions of the rack and its heat load. The database can be modified to include new user-defined styles.

Tools Tips
Now you can attach a tool tip to the tools for placing objects. The tool tip can display either the physical coordinates or the column and row labels.

Reorganized Toolbar
TileFlow Version 2.0 features a reorganized toolbar. The toolbar includes new buttons for Unlock Object Movement, Place a Server Rack, and Rotate Server Rack commands. The button for Inspect Tool has been has grouped with those for Plot Results and Animate Airflow. In the previous versions, there were two commands (under the Floor Design menu) and two corresponding buttons in the toolbar to rotate a CRAC unit (one to rotate it counterclockwise and the other clockwise). In Version 2.0, a single command (and a single toolbar button)—Rotate CRAC Unit—has been provided for this purpose. By clicking this button (or selecting the corresponding command from the Floor Design menu) multiple times, a CRAC unit can be given any desired orientation.

New Commands to Customize Workspace Windows
The View menu now includes new commands to activate the individual workspace windows, to restore the default rotation, and to specify the rack display mode for the active window. For the 3D window, the rack display setting from the View menu applies when this window is in the non-animation mode. The rack display setting for the animation mode is specified through the Animation Option from the Utilities menu.

New Functionality to Place Blockages
TileFlow 2.0 simplifies the drawing of blockages that are oriented along the length or width of the raised floor. To draw such blockages, simply press the Shift key while drawing. For already placed blockages, you can align them by holding the Shift key and repositioning the desired end of the blockage.

Color Scale for Airflow Animation
Now you can display the color scale for the airflow animation. This scale relates the displayed colors to the actual values of airflow rates. The color scale can be activated or de-activated using the Animation Options command from the Utilities menu.
